Extra Curricular Activities

I have a little confession to make… I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate and hate the so called compulsory extra curricular activities in our school. It’s true enough that our school has been really dedicated in offering loads of clubs, we got the Chinese society, English society, Drama club, this club that club whatever clubs. But the thing is, I just don’t feel like taking part in it.

This entry appeared because I was chatting with Stephanie who will attend her school’s mini concert. Sigh, you know what I do when my school announced that there is a little concert in our school? I pray to the God that I hope there will be a big disaster coming our way so that everything is destroyed. Very mature, I know. Don’t have to remind me.

And our school loved to lie a lot to the students, they will punish us if we don’t take part in any of the activities, they threaten to confiscate our certificate, they’ll do all sorts of things to make sure the students take part! But… but… I just don’t like any of the clubs, they are dead boring, Drama Club? Hello, it’s not like we will become Hollywood’s actors? Maths Club? Hello, we’ve done struggling in normal lessons! So since I was FORCED to take part, you wanna know what I joined?

At first, I signed up for Karate club. People, the training is conducted by some weird ass dictators, if they want you to stretch and even if you’re born with fragile bones, you MUST stretch! Otherwise you gotta do push ups. I found out that I was quite retarded back then, when we were told to perform some kata, I was slow and I didn’t really do well during test. Later, I quit this stupid club because my instructor kicked me. Ah well, I was being the worst student back then and I did loads of crazy stuffs personal grudges, he hates me so he tortured me. :(

Then I joined Taekwondo, okay you’re going to ask, why the hell must I take part in martial art classes? Right right fellas, I don’t want to join scouts or any society that deals with marching, I always see those crazy people marching under the hot sun and I talked to myself, “do i love to be toasted? NO!” But Taekwondo was okay though, except I love skipping classes and went to my friend’s house. In Taekwondo, the best moment is when you get to spar with anyone. I used to pick fight with a boy whom I don’t really like and during sparring session, that’s when my golden moment comes we’ll fight dirty, including punching faces, kicking groins… I passed the tests too though. LOL

I was persuaded to join English society, and I didn’t complain much because our adviser was my favorite English teacher so since she’s the one offering me to join PLUS a high position in it, why not?! When you can have benefits, that’s when you don’t complain. Come on I’m being real okay!

The main reason I dislike Extra Curricular Activities is because we are all under control, even the head has to go through his another head to get their desired activities approved. For instance you wanna organize an excursion, you gotta fill in the forms, write some formal letters, make the head likes you… blah blah blah. And I’m the type who hates to be controlled. Moreover, we are not allowed to quit the activities we don’t like! SEE?! We’re so bound! And especially when your society is led by some bossy bitches, that makes the whole society collapse, trust me, i hate those fucking young leader wannabes, most of them are bitchy and bossy. At least loosen up a little, be like me, crazy!

I bet most of you underwent this type of scenarios which you have problems with the so called “important” extra curricular activities. I won’t deny that you will learn something through extra curricular activities for instance I know how to defend myself when someone attacks me but if we have no right to voice out our opinions, we must follow the rule strictly, we must adhere to bossy bitches, we must not quit from the society we do not like… That’s it

SCREW IT!

Tiny disclaimer: I am not discouraging students to take part in extra curricular activities, this is my view and you have all the discretion for your own lives. If you want techniques to skip the activities, write to me, I’ll teach you how. If you want to know how to piss those bossy bitches off, write to me, I will also guide you on that. Ha ha ha! Enjoy!

I can so relate! I signed up for Badminton and Debating, but never went for a single activity. I would just ditch school after the morning classes finish and then come back just in time for the bus :p

Anything’s possible when you’re an A Level student and the security guards don’t know you’re bound under the same rules as everyone else *devilish look*

I have to deal with horrible committees..U tell me what to do la? I got a vice president who thinks that this job belongs to the secretary and that belongs to the treasurer. Somehow vice presidents are like vase la. Nothing to do one. She never even turn up for practises. I get big heads trying to get people do their job. I am such a failure. But I guess I’ll do better next time. Passing down soon. What a relief? =) I enjoy these clubs actually. Haha.. Unless I have post and I have to do things that other people don’t have to. Else? I love extra activities… =D

Ping Ping, same as my experience! But mine is even worse! My PRESIDENT did not want to do anything at all. When we take over his job, he shows us that kind of “I shall kill you” look. duh. For the clubs, if the leader has ideas on how to pump the energy in it, I’m sure it will be so much fun, but … the clubs are so boring! Thank God i’ve ended my high school life. Woohoo!

Jade, that is like WOW! So cool of you! At least I turn up once in a blue moon and you just ditched it like that?! COOL! Hahaha

Adelene, you can quit okay? We can’t! Once we’re stuck in the society, there’s no way we can run away from it. Pretty sucky!

Stephanie, I agree with you! Participating is so dead boring but attending for the event is so much fun! Same mind! LOL
