How People Judge You When You Participate In A Singing Competiton?

I just came back from a singing competition, nope, I didn’t take part because I didn’t know about the competition, also, I can’t sing Chinese songs so I showed my support to my buddy who has the guts to take part! And he managed to crawl into the semi final! Congrats Junior!!!

Stage

From what I observed, the judges (of the competition I mentioned) weren’t really CRUEL compared to Simon Cowell or our Malaysia’s favorite judge - Paul Moss. Most of the time they give comments like “Oh you need more practice, you need to learn… blah blah blah…

BORING!

Now lemme tell you what people/judges expect from you when you take part in a SINGING competition and I’m gonna be really frank so hate the diva if you want!

The way you dress up

How often do you see artists performing on stage wearing clothes like how people wear to the market? Or the FISHMONGER style?

Fishmongerstyle

Of course! You don’t need to wear shining outfits but at least look presentable, many people expect you to look NEAT and of course, try to be fashionable, which means you don’t tuck in your shirt and pull your pants until your tummy area… That is just … YUCKS!

The way you look

People DO discriminate, cruel but true! And people will give you side eyes if you look UGLY LESS GOOD LOOKING compared to the other contestants.Like I said, FIRST IMPRESSION y’all! People will start to look at you if you look good, for those who are ugly not gifted, it doesn’t mean apocalypse, use your singing skill to overcome your ugliness weakness. Example:

Amy Winehouse

Oh! Notice some people with extremely thick makeups? It’s a NO NO! You’re gonna look like a sex doll! Oh yeah, if possible, flash ya boobs (applicable to females/trannies) to your (male/lesbo) judges if you’re desperate to win.

The way you sing

This goes hand in hand with your selection of songs, I mean, PICK A RIGHT SONG! Otherwise if you’re born without good voice and you wanna pick Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey’s classic songs simply because you wanna impress the judges… Not just you’re gonna spoil the whole song, you are going to show your constipated look.

Diva

How sad! That’s why we have something called vocal coach, if you love singing so much, get someone to coach you and point your mistakes before embarrassing yourself in front of the crowd!

The way you act on the stage

Treat your stage like your dancefloor, you know you own it so make good use of it, act a little, dance a little, be emotional but not OVERREACT. Don’t ever be a stiff motherfucker, standing still and belt your song like reciting words from your textbooks. WHAT THE FUCK? You’re supposed to perform whoa! And some people will just stare on the ceiling/floor/their tits/dicks… Damn! What happened to interaction with the crowd?

 Work it!

I think those are the MAJOR tips people should bear in mind if at all y’all wanna take part in any singing competition. Oh my, speaking of that, have y’all heard of the upcoming One In A Million audition? I’m so gonna take part. Hey fucktards, don’t you dare to laugh at me if I didn’t make it through ok? At least I got the guts! (A way to console myself)

By the way, anybody wanna handpick me to be a judge? :P

I realized that your suggestions have been repeated by many well known people out there. Although these points are very concrete, I still think that there are times people still have to learn. :)

I mean, not every freshie can act like a singer who has been on stage for years. But one thing they have to know is the control of their voice. If they can’t do that, words are then needless.

    ;)
