Study Business Administration Won’t Get You Far

I’m not a business student but I have friends who wanna study this course, so when they told their friends about it, they went, “Business Admin? You won’t have good future with it!”, and of course, being an outsider I could only curse these people in my heart then proceed to rant this in my blog.
Who told you that Business Administration won’t give you great future? I’d like to label these people as:
- Sour grapes - They are not even studying hence they think every course sucks
- Arrogant piece of shit - Just because they *thought* they are gonna be professionals someday, they diss you.
- Idiot - They don’t even know what “Business Administration” means
True enough there are many students who choose Business Administration as their course and it may sound common to everyone but I don’t get it why it won’t get them far? My honest opinion is this:
No matter what course you’re taking, if you don’t even have the motivation to succeed, that’s when you can’t even have a great future!
So you ask them, “Why is it that Business Administration won’t get you far?”, they will tell you, “If you come out with the degree, you CAN ONLY do sales.”
WHAT THE FUCK?! Who said you can ONLY do sales with that degree? That is a very wrong concept to begin with! Yes! The world is being competitive these days and most organizations hire people with degrees. The only problem you need to concern is whether you can even pass the examination and have a degree!
I have a lecturer who told me that she will not force her kids to study any course, let them pick their favorite ones, be it music, chef, blah blah blah because her concept is this,
At the end of the day, if you can’t even earn money to survive, no matter what degree you have is a piece of shit.
So try not to criticize people who are studying business administration or ANY OTHER COURSE and as for students who are undecided about choosing proper course, please do research on your own and avoid cheap hearsays like “Oh this college is BAD!” or “Eeew… This course won’t take you far!”
Because you create a future yourself.
Some will ask me, what could possiby be my career if I choose to study business? Hey you can run a company, you can be an accountant, financial consultant and so much more, click here to check out information on Business Administration.

Study BA won’t get you far, but at least it will help you to have a good start in your job. You can only go far after you started working and accumulate the working experience.

chill, mate. i’ve heard a lot of people saying such things too. i think we are in no position to judge whether or not the course will take one far. the future lies on his own hand after all. the point is not what he learns, but how he’s going to apply things that he learnt =)

And thanks for making a point here, see the problem is that I really pity those gullible teenagers, just because their peers say “Oh this is no good” and they follow them. I think they should really stop commenting on what people are studying and mind their own business! Hi 5!

yahlor, i believe that it doesnt matter what you study or how much you predict you’re gonna earn in the future - it all comes down on how you’re gonna “WORK IT” with the degree itself! no use if you earn a doctorate cert and you slump and dont perform well - u’re still gonna have NO future.

Hey.. I agree wif u.. As a business student to be in 2009.. I strongly disagree that studying business is a complete waste of time. Business for one, though it may not be a professional degree compared to that of the engineering faculty, is a degree of value to the working world. So to those who disagree with me.. please wake up your idea.
