Because these people are in the state where they couldn't think rationally due to some problem with their life. Sometimes, we have to look back, why is she/he trying to commit suicide? Some people are just tired of their lives, some are giving up with their lives, and some trying to kill themselves because of love relationship. We, being the more rationale one should play our role in saving them by giving them advice, and tell her/him that it's not worth taking own life.
