What You Should Remember When You Drive At Night

My buddies are going to KL on the 25th, and they will depart at 3AM from Penang… I said 3 AM!!! And I also received forwarded emails saying that on 25th itself, it’s bad to wear BLACK because the spirits will be looking for their replacement on that day. Believe it or not it’s up to you.

They chose to drive instead of counting on buses, well can’t blame them, we already see a lot of accidents involving buses and we also noticed that there’s still no improvement on the situation. But here are something which people should take into consideration when they want to drive at night. ALSO, remember to have plenty of rest before you drive, don’t go anywhere just hibernate in your nest, recharge your energy before you hit the road!

  • If you’re going out with your friends, try to take turns. Why? Because if it’s a long journey, you will somewhat feel exhausted so your friend (who has a driving license) can be very useful in this case.
  • Stay ALERT! This is the keyword. If you’re with friends, one of your friends should be alert as well when you’re driving. Why? Simple, you’re driving for 2 hours, and the sceneries are the same, and at some point you will automatically assume that your journey is going to be a one straight line and because of that you might not aware that you are supposed to make a turn. This is when your friend will remind you.
  • So you’re very sleepy already, and your friends need rest too. It’s best that you drive to the RnR station and have a nap. FIND crowded place and park your car in front of the crowd or near some cars. Yes you are shy when people can see the ugly look of you when you sleep but isn’t it better than being robbed or raped and nobody can even see you?
  • Rumor has it that when you smell something fragrant while you’re on your journey, do not start to discuss about that smell with your friends because it’s a sign of pontianak (vampire) trying to lure you to her trap. Well my logic is this, the minute you start to discuss SOMETHING, you as a driver will tend to be distracted so you know what’s gonna happen if you drive without staying focus right?
  • This is what your grandma will advise you but you will not listen. DO NOT SPEED when you’re traveling at night but people won’t listen because there’s no one on the road and you go WooHoO!! Imagining yourself as a Tokyo Drift actor! But in Malaysia, say you speed and you banged onto an illegal racer, and later a whole group appears… Or sometimes idiots don’t turn on their lights and you might not see them. So, DO NOT SPEED!
  • Don’t take short cuts, you may end up driving into the Woods of Death. Okay I’m just being exaggerative, c’mon, you know it, we must try to avoid remote places especially when it’s at night. You just don’t know what will happen so stay at the right track okay?
  • Thanks to Nesh, she contributed this tips: DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE! I forgot this crucial point. Thanks girl!

This post is dedicated to Minny, Benji and Chee Hsien and EVERYONE else who will travel at night. You can choose not to be superstitious but sometimes those hearsays are good, why? Because they will make us alert! Same goes to driving! Driver must always be ALERT at all times.

You wanna joke, can~ why cannot? But you don’t joke until your hands are not on the steering. Play safe, drive safe!

I don’t watch horror movie when I know I’m going to drive alone later.

    Why?

Because I’d tend to check my backseat over frequently through my rear-view mirror to make sure that I’m really alone in the car.

    ~_~”’

    I’m distracted by myself hehe
